Shamkhani:

Tehran (IP) - UAE's top national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council early on Monday here in Tehran.

Iran PressIran news: In this meeting, Admiral Ali Shamkhani stated that lasting stability and security would be established only in the shadow of continuous dialogue and cooperation between the countries in the region.

He said: "Warm and friendly relations with neighbors and exchange of economic, trade and investment capacities are the main priorities of Iran in foreign policy."

While asking the countries of the region to avoid the interventionist policies of extra-regional countries, Shamkhani said: "If the countries of the Persian Gulf work with each other, they can both provide prosperity for their nations, and, as an energy hub, they can also play an important role in the world economy."

He added that dialogue should replace military methods to resolve disputes.

Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan also said that Iran, as a significant and influential country, has a unique geopolitical position and a highway between East and West.

Referring to the economic capacities of the two countries in transit, energy, transportation, health, and investment, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan added: "Obstacles must be removed by accurately identifying areas for joint cooperation in various economic fields, by forming specialized working groups."

In his one-day visit to Tehran, the Emirati official will meet with President Ebrahim Raisi today.
