Top cleric:
Iranian nation accpets nothing less than lifting sanctions

Tehran (IP) - The Leader of Tehran's Friday Prayers stresses that the Iranian people will not accept anything less than the lifting of all sanctions in Vienna talks.

Iran PressIran news: Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said in the Friday Prayers' sermon on December 3, that an experienced delegation went to Vienna to negotiate, and articulated their positions explicitly.

Khatami said the Iranian negotiating team demonstrated their anti-American positions, both in word and in practice.

The new round of Vienna talks began last Monday, November 29, with the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the P4 + 1 countries to lift the US' illegal sanctions. Ali Bagheri Kani is the head of the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna.

After 13 years of intensive international negotiations, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was concluded on July 14, 2015 between Iran on one side and China, Russia, UK, France, US, and Germany on the other side. One week later, UN Security Council ratified Resolution No. 2231 and attached it to Annex A of the resolution.

The US unilaterally withdrew from the agreement on May 8, 2018, and introduced the harshest sanctions in history against Iran in line with his "Maximum pressure" campaign against the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian delegation in Vienna stressed that it was not possible to decide on other issues until the status of the US sanctions on Iran was clarified.

Being adapted to the illegal sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran knows the ways to deal with the sanctions and had no urgency to reach an agreement.
