Tehran (IP) - Yemen's ambassador to Iran says the Yemeni people have become a role model for the Islamic Ummah and are fighting with the aggressors with all their might.

Iran PressIran news: In the second World Assembly of the Oppressed Conference, underway in Tehran, Ibrahim al-Dailami, Yemeni ambassador to Iran, said that Yemen is the land of the oppressed people against the arrogant.

Ibrahim al-Dilami added: "The conference is being held to expose the enmity of the United States and the Zionist regime with the Yemeni people."

He said: "When we talk about the war in Yemen, some people say that this war resulted from a dispute between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, but it is the American-Zionist war that Saudi Arabia has become a tool in the war.

Ibrahim al-Dilami noted: "The Yemenis have always defended Islam and in a demonstration last night in Sana'a they also expressed their opposition to the United States and the Zionist regime."

"All Muslims must put aside their differences and unite against the Zionist regime because the United States and the Zionist regime want to dominate the Islamic world," the ambassador noted.

Nasser Abu Sharif, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement's representative in Iran, referred to the Yemeni resistance movement, saying: "This resistance has found its enemies and became one of the axes of the resistance front."

"While the Yemeni people are suffering from many social and economic problems, they are at the forefront of supporting Palestine," he said.

With the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia invaded Yemen in March 2015. The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has killed tens of thousands and displaced millions of Yemenis.

The Saudi military aggression has also left the impoverished country of Yemen severely short of food and medicine.
