Tehran (IP) – Iranian foreign minister and the first deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan exchanged views on bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: Shahin Mustafayev, who is in Tehran for a one-day working visit, met with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Sunday evening to discuss the latest developments in the Caucasus region and bilateral cooperation.

In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian called the liberation of Azerbaijani lands the basis for beginning a new chapter in the economic relations between the two countries and stressed the need to use the two sides' economic capacities in trade, transport, energy, and tourism.

Referring to Iran's capabilities, he also announced the readiness of Iranian companies to participate in the reconstruction of the newly liberated areas.

He also noted the two countries' successes in Covid vaccination and stressed the need to facilitate communication between citizens and resume flights between Iran and Azerbaijan.

In another part of his talks, Amir-Abdollahian referred to Iran's permanent stance in support of the territorial integrity of countries and stressed the immutability of international borders in the region.

The first deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan also expressed his satisfaction with his constructive meetings with the Iranian ministers of oil and roads and urban development and stated that the two countries are close to historical agreements in oil, gas, and transportation.

Mustafayev referred to the trade increase between the two sides since the beginning of 2021 and noted that the 22% rise in trade during the pandemic indicates the two countries' friendly relations and economic capacities. 219
