Tehran (IP) -The Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriates' Affairs will pay a visit to Belarus to address the issue of the Iranians trapped in Belarus borders with Lithuania and Poland.

Iran PressIran news: Kazem Sajjadi is scheduled to have negotiations with the Belarusian officials over the status of the Iranians there and a field visit to the country's border areas. 

Earlier, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart on the situation of the Iranian nationals in the mentioned area.

Several Iranian nationals were troubled behind the borders of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania.

The Iranian embassy in Minsk has also sent several notes to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry calling for immediate action of the Belarusian authorities to assist the Iranian nationals caught in the cold behind the borders.

Earlier, the Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while explaining the last update about the Iranian nationals who have been trapped in the Belarus- Lithuania border, stressed that Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs would pursue the issue seriously until the problem would be solved.

On Sunday night, Saeed Khatibzadeh, in response to reporters' questions about the latest situation of Iranian nationals detained on the border between Belarus and Lithuania, added: "Following the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belarus Follow up on the issue.

He added: "According to this, the embassy immediately contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant Belarusian institutions to obtain additional information about the situation of compatriots trapped on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border and to resolve their problems."

He further explained that during these contacts, the embassy requested the cooperation of the competent Belarusian institutions to reach out to Iranians detained at the borders and investigate their situation immediately.
