The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that Iran is pursuing this agreement in several specific areas, including issues related to trade, economy and investment, stressing: "Some more detailed documents, concerning private sector relations, energy, new technologies and IT preparations as well as contacts between the Iranian ministries and their Chinese counterparts have been underway for a long time and are being held regularly.
The document of the comprehensive cooperation plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran and China, called the 25-year plan, was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries on March 27, 2021 in Tehran.
In a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on August 18 2021, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said that developing cooperation and relations with China was the priority of the Iranian government in the field of foreign policy.
The Sino-Iranian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was announced in a joint statement during a Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Tehran in 2016.
The cooperation roadmap consists of 20 articles, according to the statement released back then.
