Rawalpindi (IP) – On the second day of his official visit to Pakistan, the chief of general staff of the Iranian Armed Forces met his Pakistani counterpart on Wednesday.

Iran PressAsia: Accompanied by a high-ranking military delegation, Major-General Mohammad Bagheri met with the Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday morning.

After the welcoming ceremony, high-ranking Iranian and Pakistani military delegations began formal talks.

Major-General Bagheri and General Bajwa examined the latest developments in Iran-Pakistan bilateral relations, defense relations, and regional developments, including Afghanistan.

The chief of general staff of the Iranian Armed Forces is also scheduled to meet Pakistan's Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza.

The development of cooperation against terrorism, the exchange of training staff, the strengthening of border management, the exchange of information, and the expansion of defense consultations are other issues being discussed by the two sides.

Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Major-General Bagheri arrived in Islamabad last night at the head of a high-ranking military delegation to expand cooperation with Pakistan and was welcomed by senior Pakistani military officials and the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan.
