Tehran (IP) - The head of the Clinical Studies Department of the Food and Drug Administration of Iran says that there have been no reports of deaths due to the corona vaccines in Iran.

Iran PressIran News: On the sidelines of the meeting of National Scientific Committee against Coronavirus on Sunday, Reza Mosaed told reporters that the committee was reviewing the reports on the injection of the Iran-made COVID-19 vaccines and announced that no death cases were observed due to the corona vaccine injection in Iran.

"Regarding the injection of corona vaccine for Iranian students, so far, only the Sinopharm vaccine has been approved, but by the end of the week, the Cuban-Iranian vaccine of the Pasteur Institute will be available for student injections," Mosaed said. 

The health research official also said that corona vaccines' effectiveness in Iran was acceptable because domestic vaccines entered the third phase of clinical trials when the predominant variant of the coronavirus in Iran was the delta variant.

So far, 45,075,513  Iranian people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 19,326,432 have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 64,401,945 doses.
