Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking to reporters after visiting the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Ebrahim Raisi added: "Achieving the first rank in the economy, science, and technology in the region requires purposeful planning for the sustainable development of the nuclear industry in accordance with the latest international standards."
"In the future, nuclear knowledge will lead to the scientific development and progress of countries, and we should not lag behind others," Raisi added.
He added: "Significant growth and development of nuclear knowledge will lead to the promotion of other technologies."
The president said: "We are happy that Bushehr power plant will produce 1000 MW of electricity in its total nominal capacity and this amount will increase three times and at the same time, the Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) has a mission to increase the country's electricity generation capacity to ten thousand MW."
"Supplying part of Bushehr water through nuclear desalination is another mission we expect from AEOI," the president said.
