Beirut (IP)- Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, in a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, said Iran has proven to be a sincere ally and loyal friend who does not leave its friends alone.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is on an official visit to Beirut, met with the Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, which was also attended by the Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Mohammad Jalal Firuznia.

During the meeting, the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region were reviewed, according to the Al-Ahed News website.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the stability of his country's position towards Lebanon and Iran's support of Lebanon in all fields.

Nasrallah thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for standing by the government and people of Lebanon and the Lebanese resistance for decades.

"Iran has proven to be a sincere ally and loyal friend who does not leave friends alone," Nasrallah said.

He added: "There are many hopes that with the cooperation of all, Lebanon will get out of this difficult situation that it is grappling with."

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Lebanon on his first visit as Iranian Foreign Minister on Thursday morning and met with senior Lebanese officials, including President Michel Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib and talked about regional and bilateral issues.

During these meetings, the Iranian Foreign Minister, while emphasizing the strong support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Lebanon, announced the government's readiness to provide comprehensive support to this country.

Before arriving in Beirut, in Moscow, he met with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.
