The Emergency Services Department of Russia's Amur Region announced in a statement that the wreckage of the Antonov-24 passenger plane, which was heading to the city of Tynda with 43 passengers, was found 15 kilometers from the city and, according to preliminary information, all passengers were killed.

According to the RIA Novosti news agency, the Amur Region Emergency Services Department said in a statement, "The area is difficult to cross and there is lush vegetation, and survivors may be found during a ground search."

In a related statement, the Amur Center for Fire Safety and Civil Defense said that the wreckage of the Angara airliner, which disappeared from radar screens en route from the city of Blagoveshchensk to the city of Tynda, was identified by a helicopter, but full details are not yet known and technical investigations are still ongoing.
