Tehran(IP): The deputy chairman of the National Security Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran warned that the International Atomic Energy Agency officials should not get involved in political issues.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, Abbas Moqhtadaei said: "The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should work only on technical issues."

The deputy chairman of the National Security Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran added: "Of course, during the recent visit of IAEA officials to Tehran, only technical working meetings were held with the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, in attendance."

Abbas Moqhtadaei said: "The interests of the Iranian people should be addressed in the activities of the United Nations and institutions related to nuclear energy, and Iran will also cooperate in IAEA inspections."

The Deputy Chairman of the National Security Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran added: "The members of the Assembly have also emphasized that Iran's cooperation will only be within the framework determined by Iran's Parliament’s decisions."

Moqhtadaei also said: "The International Atomic Energy Agency wants to continue negotiations and expand cooperation with Iran, and in return Iran has emphasized that the negotiations should be only at the technical level and the interests of the Iranian people should be served."

"Iran will act within the framework of its obligations. Of course, the other side must also fulfill its duties based on its obligations, "the Iranian senior MP concluded.
