Dushanbe (IP) - Iran's president said at a meeting with the Pakistani prime minister that there is valuable potential for expanding relations between Tehran and Islamabad.

Iran PressIran news: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on Thursday on the sidelines of the SCO summit in the Tajik capital Dushanbe to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries.

This is the first meeting between the leaders of the two neighboring countries, Iran and Pakistan, after Raisi's victory in the Iranian presidential election.

Iran's President traveled to Dushanbe to attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and meet with some of the leaders. A group of ministers accompanied the president on this trip.

Raisi will address the Shanghai summit tomorrow (Friday).
