Dushanbe (IP) - The current economic relations between Tehran and Tashkent are not on the level of political relations between the two countries, and the Islamic Republic is interested in expanding economic ties with Uzbekistan over the framework of expanding ties with neighbors, the Iranian president said.

Iran PressAsia: The Presidents of Iran and Uzbekistan, Ebrahim Raisi and Shaukat Mirziyoyev, met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Summit on Monday.

Iran's President traveled to Dushanbe to attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and meet with some of the leaders. A group of ministers accompanied the president on this trip.

Raisi will address the Shanghai summit tomorrow (Friday).

The presidents of Iran and Tajikistan are also expected to sign legal, political, and economic agreements with Tajikistan during the visit.
