Tehran (IP) - The head of Iran's Arbaeen central headquarters said that according to the Iranian embassy in Iraq, the Iraqi government is supposed to be agreed that a maximum of 30,000 Iranians can participate in the Arbaeen ceremony, and 72 hours before the trip, their PCR test must be negative.

Iran PressIran news: In a press conference held at Interior Ministry on Sep.6, 2021, Hossein Zolfaghari noted that those who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and do not have any pre-existing conditions could attend the Arbaeen ritual in Iraq.

"Absolutely no land trip is allowed to Iraq to attend the Arbaeen ritual, and 6 Iranian airports are ready to offer services for the pilgrims," he said. 

He stressed that all land borders are completely closed, and no services will be provided through the country's land borders this year. 

"If anyone enters Iraq illegally to attend the ceremony, they will be prosecuted so that no one can pass the borders," Hossein Zolfaghari specified.

He expressed hope that the disease will be eliminated soon.
