The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with the leaders of the Palestinian groups in Damascus, the capital of Syria, on Sunday night.

Iran PressMiddle East: During the meeting, which was attended by the Iranian Ambassador to Syria, Mehdi Sobhani, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the Palestinian people's struggle against the Zionist occupiers.

After the meeting, Talal Naji, Secretary-General of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine, while appreciating the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the resistance front in occupied Palestine, stated: "Thanks to this support, the struggle of the Palestinian people will continue until they achieve their rights."

Talal Naji added: "If it were not for the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the victories of the resistance axis in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen would not have been realized today."

In addition to Talal Naji, other Palestinian officials who were present in the meeting included Khalid Abdal Majid, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Front, Abu Saeed Al-Maniawi, Senior Leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Fahd Soleiman, Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Abu Hazem Al-Saghir Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement.

Amirabdollahian had previously held separate meetings with the Syrian President and Bashar al-Assad and  Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maghdad. 219
