Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister met with Iraqi President Barham Saleh to reaffirm Tehran's support of Baghdad's independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is in Baghdad to attend a regional summit in support of Iraq, met with the Iraqi President Barham Salih and stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for Iraq's independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In this meeting, the President of Iraq thanked the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran for attending the Baghdad Summit, and called Amir-Abdollahian's first foreign visit to Iraq important, and praised Iran's support for Iraq.

Developments in the region, economic and trade cooperation between the regional countries, and the need to expand economic relations between the two countries were other topics discussed by the Iranian Foreign Minister in the meeting with the President of Iraq.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian gave a speech at the Baghdad summit that kicked off on Saturday with heads of state and foreign ministers of regional and some western countries in attendance.
