The Tokyo Paralympics is the fourth experience of the Iranian men's national wheelchair basketball team in Paralympic games.
Iran's national wheelchair basketball team competed for the first time at the 2004 Athens Paralympics and finished ninth, and four years later, at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, it ascended to eighth place.
The Iranian team finished 10th in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
