Iran Press/ Iran News: President Raisi expressed his appreciation for Japan's humanitarian assistance in the fight against Corona and expressed hope that cooperation in this field would eradicate the disease.
Iranian President has stressed the need to release Iran's blocked foreign exchange resources in Japan, noting that the delay in releasing Iranian assets in Japanese banks is not justified.
President Raisi noted the necessity and importance of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) as an international agreement, said: "Iran has complied with all its obligations in the JCPOA and it is the Americans who have not fulfilled their obligations and withdrew unilaterally from this international agreement and expanded sanctions."
Elsewhere he referred to Afghanistan's developments and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported and continues to support peace and stability in Afghanistan. Of course, we believe that Afghans should make their own decisions in Afghanistan."
President Raisi pointed to the insecurity caused by US presence in the region's including Afghanistan, said: "Today, after 20 years, the Americans admit that their presence in Afghanistan was a mistake, which we will no doubt to see it in the near future on other countries in the region, as well as countries alongside the Persian Gulf."
The US bullying threatened the independence, freedom, and identity of the world's nations, and the nations needed to stand against the unilateralism and monopoly of the arrogant powers said the Iranian president and stressed that power-seeking in any form would be in the interest of no country and region.
Concerning the security of regional and international waters, President Raisi said:" Iran considered the creation of any insecurity in the region dangerous for regional and international security and opposed it."
The Japanese Foreign Minister, for his part, said Tokyo always supported the JCPOA as an international agreement and believed that reviving the agreement was in the partys' interest and could help resolve problems through dialogue and negotiation.
Toshimitsu Motegi expressed concerns over the situation in Afghanistan and said Tokyo supported the diplomatic efforts of the countries of the region to achieve peace and stability in the country.
"Our principle stance is that problems and issues should be resolved peacefully and through dialogue," he added.
