Iran' President Ebrahim Raisi in Ashura mourning ritual

Tehran (IP) - Iran's President described Ashura's event as a tableau that taught the lesson of justice-seeking and the fight against oppression.

Iran PressIran news: Attending a mourning ceremony on Wednesday night, Ebrahim Raisi said that Ashura was a pattern of living and that the mottos of Ashura belonged to the whole history, not to a specific area.

Noting that the Ashura event and its lessons were causing developments in the world, Raisi pointed to the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the Islamic movements in the region as manifestations of Ashura.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: "We must strive for the dignity and prosperity of the society and solve the problems of the people based on the lifestyle of Imam Hussein (AS)."

The Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam, and his companions were martyred in the battle of Karbala (in the year 61 AH (October 10, 680 CE in) Iraq to promote Justice and fight against oppression. The day is commonly known as Ashura.
