Tehran (IP): The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Iraq, said that the nations of Iran and Iraq have common aspirations; therefore the efforts of common enemies cannot disrupt the relations between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: "The efforts of common enemies cannot disrupt relations between the two countries," Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said in a telephone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi on Tuesday.

Raisi added: "A strong, independent, united, secure, and advanced Iraq is not only Iran's dream but also the main agenda between the two countries to develop bilateral and regional cooperation."

He said: "We will always support any initiative and action that stabilizes the situation in Iraq and promotes its role in the region."

Emphasizing that the countries of the region are able to design and implement a roadmap for achieving security, stability, and lasting peace in cooperation with each other, President Raisi said: "only the countries of the region can decide about the fate of the region."

Iranian President also stressed the need to resolve the Yemeni crisis and stop the war in the country, saying: "Everyone should seek to stop the war in Yemen and respect the right of the people of this country."

In this phone call, the Iraqi Prime Minister said: "Tehran is a real partner for Baghdad and has always been with the Iraqi government and people in difficult conditions."

Al-Kazemi said that the region is witnessing great challenges today and solving these issues requires wisdom, patience, and cooperation of the countries in the region, adding: "I hope to meet with the President of Iran at Iraq's neighboring countries summit in Baghdad."
