Tehran (IP)- In a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called relations between the two countries beyond neighborliness emphasizing close cooperation between Iran and Turkey is vital for peace, security, and stability in the region.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian President called for the speedy convening of the 7th Meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between Iran and Turkey and said: "I am confident that cooperation between Iran and Turkey will lead to progress and peace."

Addressing Erdogan, the Raisi also stressed: "Helping the oppressed and homeless people of Palestine and freeing them from the oppression of the Zionists will never be off our common agenda."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also said: "I have no doubt that during your presidency, our bilateral and regional cooperation in all fields will be strengthened."

Expressing that the High-Level Cooperation Council was significant for the cooperation between the two countries, Erdogan expressed hope that the meeting would be held in Tehran as soon as possible; during that meeting, he would meet with the President of Iran.

The Turkish President also thanked Iran for its humanitarian assistance to Turkey in dealing with the recent wildfire in the country. 219
