Iran Press/ Iran news: Receiving the South African Parliament Speaker, Tandi Modise on Thursday, Ebrahim Raisi said: "Iran have always had good relations with South Africa after ousting of the apartheid system in the country and that the two countries' ties had a high potential yet to get more expanded in different areas."
Noting that the Iranian people had always shown good feelings toward the African countries and people, Raisi said that the Iranian nation well know the African nations as those the world's colonial powers had oppressed.
"The Iranian people, and of course the world public opinion, strongly hate discrimination against people of color, especially the abuse of blacks in the United States," he added.
Still, referring to the national capabilities and regional and international status of Iran and South Africa, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, noted that the two countries had a responsibility to defend the rights of independent countries in international forums.
For her part, South Africa's Parliament Speaker Tandi Modise congratulated Ebrahim Raisi and said that her country demanded comprehensive ties with Iran.
"We have never recognized US unilateral sanctions against Iran, and we believe that along with overcoming sanctions, we can raise the level of bilateral relations," she noted.
