Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan must work to secure region

Tehran (IP) - President Ebrahim Raisi, in a meeting with the Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of Tajikistan on Wednesday said that relations between the two countries are based on friendship and common language.

Iran PressIran news: President Raisi said: "Tehran-Dushanbe relations are above normal relations between two countries, and we should take serious steps for development of these relations by relying on common cultural and civilizational grounds”.

President Raisi described the development of relations between Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan, as three Persian-speaking countries, significant and said, "The insecurity in Afghanistan today, which is rooted in foreign interference in the country, is not in anyone's interest."

"Iran and Tajikistan should have closer bilateral and international cooperation with each other to eliminate the common concern," Iran's new President said.

In this meeting, the Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the President of Tajikistan to President Raisi, saying, "Iran-Tajikistan relations are based on a common religion, language, culture, history and civilisation and have great potential for development.”
