The Russian president's special envoy for Syria stressed that the fight against terrorism in Syria will continue.

Iran PressAsia: The fight against terror groups in Syria must continue without respite, until they are completely eliminated, Russian Special Presidential Representative for settlement in Syria Alexander Lavrentiev said at the press conference after the 16th Astana Format meeting on Syria.

The Russian president's special envoy for Syria also stressed that humanitarian aid to Syria must be comprehensive and improving the humanitarian situation in the country must be a priority for the international community.

The 16th Astana Process talks held in Nur-Sultan of Kazakhstan, Iran, Russia, and Turkey stressed the continuation of cooperation for uprooting terrorism in Syria.

In the joint final statement of the meeting issued on Thursday, the three countries announced that they would cooperate until the total uprooting of ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria

The three countries also condemned the Israeli military strikes on Syria as a violation of international law that must be stopped.

The next meeting of the 'Astana talks' over the Syrian crisis will be held by the end of 2021.

The crisis in Syria began in 2011 with a massive offensive by terrorist groups backed by Saudi Arabia, the United States and their allies to shift the regional equation in favor of the Zionist regime. 219
