In a message, the President of South Africa congratulated Iran's President-elect, Ebrahim Raisi, and stressed the readiness of Pretoria on cooperation with Tehran.

Iran Press/Africa: Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated Ebrahim Raisi's victory in the presidential election held on June 18 and appreciated Iran for having such a calm and successful poll. 

In the message, Ramaphosa considered Iran as its strategic trade partner in western and central Asia and pointed to Iran's support for South Africa's freedom-seeking campaigns as an example of the long history of cooperation between the two countries. 

He stressed the South African government's eagerness for collaboration with Raisi's administration to boost the ties and regional and international cooperation with Iran.
