Religious minorities in Iran have always been active in the political arena. They have representatives in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

The thirteenth presidential election, the sixth election of the city and rural councils, the mid-term election of the fifth Assembly of Experts, and the mid-term election of the eleventh Islamic Consultative Assembly have started at 7 am on Friday.
