PGCC calls for member states' participation in Iran's nuclear talks

Riyadh (IP) - Members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) on Wednesday called for their participation in talks on Iran's nuclear program.

Iran PressMiddle East: The 148th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council was held on Wednesday, at the Secretariat  General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the aim of strengthening the strategic relations between the member countries and discussing the latest regional and international developments.

During the event, the statement was also released.

The statement called the military action "a threat to regional and global security" without mentioning the Saudi coalition's aggression, accusing the Yemeni army and popular committees.

According to the statement, the member states of the Council also reaffirmed their firm stance on the Palestinian cause and condemned the continuation of the Tel Aviv's attacks against the Palestinian people.

In another part of the statement, Iran was discussed, and by reiterating the constant accusations against Tehran of trying to undermine security and stability in the region, they emphasized the need for the members of this council to participate in nuclear talks with Iran.

The foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council also claimed that the issue of Iran's missiles should be considered in the ongoing nuclear talks in Vienna.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, in response to French President Emmanuel Macron's request for the participation of Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, in the nuclear talks, said: "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a multilateral international agreement that has been ratified by UN Security Council Resolution 2231, and it is in no way renegotiable, and its parties are clear and unchangeable."
