Iran's Interior Minister:

Tehran (IP) - Iran's interior minister stressed that there were no security problems for the presidential election on Friday, 18 June 2021.

Iran PressIran news: In a news conference, Ali Rahmani Fazli added that all enemies' plots to disrupt the presidential election had been thwarted, and some have been arrested.

"1.5 million personnel work together to guarantee the security of the presidential election," the minister added.

The Interior Minister said that the presidential election is held on Friday from 7 am to 12 pm and might be extended until 2 am.

He highlighted that about 59 million 310 thousand 307 people are eligible to vote, of which about one million 392 thousand 148 people are voting for the first time.

He added that all phases of electronic elections would be implemented.

He emphasized that 70,000 observers will monitor the election.

"The candidates' representatives would be present in all poll stations and all processes, including vote-counting," he added.
