Iran's government urges high turnout in elections

Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Government encouraged people to a high turnout in the 13th round of the presidential election and vote for the one who was the closest to their causes.

Iran PressIran news: In his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Ali Rabiee said the Iranian nation passed a series of ebbs and flows, including coups, sanctions, and economic war, and managed to preserve its republicanism during different eras.

Rabiee stressed ballot boxes as a precious heritage from the sacrificial history of the Iranian nation, for the preservation of which many lives were sacrificed.

"The absence of a ballot box and democracy in the US-backed Pahlavi regime had caused the rulers' constant fear of the people and people's coercive distrust of the very rulers," he noted.

He highlighted the importance of republicanism in the country and noted that what gave Imam Khomeini the power to make such a great impact was the support of the republic and the majority of the people who manifested their strong will and aspirations in him.

"So far, the Islamic Revolution's value and its continuation, according to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, were guaranteed by the trusts that were manifested in the ballot boxes," Rabiee stated.
