Tehran (IP): In a telephone conversation with the EU foreign policy chief, the Iranian foreign minister said that the continuation of Trump's illegal and inhumane sanctions against Iran should not be applied by the US administration as a negotiation tool.

Iran PressIran News: In a telephone call on Thursday night, EU Foreign Policy Chief Joseph Borrell and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed the latest situation of the Vienna talks, the achieved outcomes as well as the remaining issues to be discussed.

Thanking Borrell and his colleagues due to the efforts made in the European External Action Service, Zarif criticized the continuation of US economic terrorism over the past 5 months and the prolonged violation of its obligations, noting: "The continuation of Trump's illegal and inhumane sanctions as a negotiation tool by the Biden administration is unacceptable, and the fundamental change of the approach, as a prerequisite for making Vienna talks successful, is the political decision that the US President must make to this end."

The fourth round of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Joint Commission meeting, held at the Grand Hotel Wien in Vienna, ended on Wednesday evening.
