Syrian citizens from different countries are going to the polls on Thursday morning to vote in the presidential election.

Iran Press/Middle East: The doors of the polling stations at the Syrian embassies and consulates in Australia, Japan, India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Iran were opened at 7 am local time and the voting will continue until 7 pm.

Syria holds a presidential election every seven years, and this is the second election since 2011, the beginning of the crisis against the country.

Syrian forces, with the help of resistance forces and friendly countries, managed to liberate a large part of the country from the yoke of the terrorist occupiers, but some areas are still occupied by terrorists with the support of foreign forces.

The Syrian government controlled a third of the country's territory in the previous presidential election in 2014 but now owns more than three-quarters of Syria's territory.

The Syrian presidential election is scheduled for May 26 inside the country with three candidates competing, including "Bashar al-Assad."
