Tehran (IP): Deputy head of coordination of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army said that the navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran should be strengthened to prevent arrogant powers from taking advantage of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the Persian Gulf National Day conference at the Islamic Republic of Iran Army University of Command and Staff on Monday, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said: "Iran has had a maritime civilization in history and should move towards the revival of this civilization. The deputy chief of the Iranian Army for coordination added that in order to solve Iran's problems, we must move towards the creation of a maritime culture, which would lead to the knowledge of the sea."

Admiral Sayyari stated: "In the Persian Gulf region, Iran has an important position and the enemies have always come to the region for abuse; therefore, we must be strong."

He also noted: "With the efforts of the Navy, maritime diplomacy and maritime security have been achieved and the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown its power and authority to the enemies by being present in the Mediterranean Sea."

Speaking at the Persian Gulf National Day conference, Admiral Gholamreza Tahani, Deputy Head of Coordination of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, also said that the Persian Gulf was one of the richest waterways in the world that had attracted great powers to this region.

In the Persian Gulf region, the Iranian-Islamic civilization has rendered many services to humanity, and the 8 Persian Gulf states must be united, he added.

Admiral Tahani added that the Persian Gulf was part of Iran's identity and the Islamic Republic of Iran would certainly not tolerate the illegitimate presence of arrogant powers in the region.
