Istanbul (IP) - Iranian athletes finished the Turkish International Athletics Championships with 7 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

Iran PressAsia: The International Athletics Championships, which started in Turkey on Saturday, ended with 7 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals for Iranian athletes.

In the competitions, Mohammad-Reza Tayyebi in the shot put, Sajjad Hashemi in the 400-meter dash, Reza Moqaddam in the hammer throw, Keyvan Ghanbarzadeh in the high jump, Omid Amirian in 800 meters, Hamidreza Kia in the Triple jump, and Hossein Rasouli in the discus throw won gold medals.

Also, Reyhaneh Mobini in the long jump, Shahin Mehrdelan in the shot put, Mehdi Pirjahan in 400 meters hurdles, Pejman Yarvali in 800 meters, Sadeq Samimi in discus throw won silver medals.

Omid Amirian in the 1500 meters and Homayoun Hemmati in the 3000 meters won bronze medals.

400 athletes from 9 countries participated in the competitions, and the Iranian team participated with 16 athletes aiming at passing the preparatory competitions before the Tokyo Olympic Games.
