Iran Press/Middle East: The Spokesman for the Iraqi Government Hassan Nazim, and the Iraqi Minister of Culture, said in a weekly news conference on Wednesday that the government assigned the Iraqi Ministry of Transport to sign the memorandum of understanding with the Iranian side.
He called the railway connection with Iran in line with the implementation of bilateral development agreements between Iran and Iraq, adding that his country was seeking to sign similar memoranda of understanding with other neighboring countries.
The Iraqi spokesman stressed that the plan to connect the railways with Iran and other neighbors was part of Iraq's strategic policy to advance the country's development plans.
