Iran Press/ Iran News: The art of masonry in Mashhad is done with 'Serpentine' stone, which is widely available in Khorasan Razavi province.
Due to its softness, the serpentine stone is formed in any way needed, and the main mine of this stone is located in the Kuhsangi area of Mashhad up to the Binalood mountain range.
The art of stone carving in Mashhad has created beautiful objects by combining different designs such as calligraphy, engraving, latticework, gilding, painting, and miniature, which in addition to being used in Iran, is also exported to Iraq and Central Asian countries.
