Perspolis (IP)- Persepolis complex, which is one of the most important ancient monuments of Iran, is a symbol of beauty and the manifestation of Iranian culture in the Achaemenid era.

Iran Press/Iran News: Persepolis complex is located 10 km north of Marvdasht and 57 km from Shiraz, the capital of Fars province in southern Iran.

Persepolis's ancient complex was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979 and is one of the important tourist attractions of Fars province.

Persepolis is a part of Iran's ancient history and culture, built by the order of Darius the Great in 518 BC.

With an area of about 125,000 square meters, the ancient complex of Persepolis is one of the unique masterpieces of Achaemenid architecture in the world.

Persepolis is a symbol of Iranian artists' creativity in using the culture of various peoples such as the Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Medes, and Armenians who were under the rule of the Achaemenids.

One of the most beautiful palaces in the Persepolis complex is the Apadana Palace, whose amazing and unique columns and stairs still stand. The construction of Apadana palace began in the epoch of Darius the Great and was completed after 30 years during the reign of Xerxes.

The building of the Achaemenid Museum in Persepolis is one of Iran's oldest buildings, which was dedicated to the museum after reconstruction. Some of the works obtained from the surveys and excavations of Persepolis are displayed in this museum. According to historians, the colors that can be seen on the museum's walls were taken from the yellow and red colors used in the Persepolis complex.

Aimed at preserving these valuable ancient monuments, the International Project for the Preservation of Persepolis World Heritage Sites in 2019 has been launched in order to restore and renovate parts of two important buildings in Persepolis.
