Iran Press/ Iran News: Anahita Temple is the largest stone structure in Iran after Persepolis in Fars province, which is located in Kangavar, Kermanshah province, western Iran.
The exact time of the construction of the Anahita Temple is not known, but it has been used since 450 BC and at the same time as the Achaemenid Empire.
According to historical documents, the first cornerstone of the temple of Anahita was built in the Achaemenid era and its construction continued until later periods and was completed during the Sassanid period.
The Anahita Temple structure is built on three floors or levels using limestone and gypsum, and each column weighs approximately 22 tons and is about 4 meters high.
This huge historical and ancient building of Iran is built on a hill about 32 meters above the ground. Anahita Temple or Kangavar Historical Complex has been registered as a national monument of Iran. 207
