Belgrade (IP) - Serbian minister of mining and energy and Iran's ambassador to Belgrade stressed the expansion of mining and energy cooperation between the two countries in a meeting.

Iran Press/Europe: In a meeting with Rashid Hassanpour, Zorana Mikhailovich thanked the Iranian ambassador for the good cooperation with the Serbian government and expressed hope for further enhancement of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Mikhailovich stated that the existence of a sub-committee on mining and energy within the framework of the joint commission for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries was important to increase cooperation in areas, including mining and energy, especially in the gas sector.

"Iran has many capacities and advantages in mining and energy, and Serbia is interested in effective and sustainable cooperation with Iran in these sectors," she noted.

Hassanpour also stated that Iran attached great importance to cooperation with Serbia in various fields.

He expressed hope that in the light of joint efforts, the mechanism of forming the joint committee of mines and energy using cyberspace would be activated as soon as possible.

He also noted that the Islamic Republic welcomed cooperation with Serbia to diversify energy resources.
