Geneva (IP) - At the UN Human Rights Council meeting, Iran's representative said the US violated the Iranian people's rights by imposing unilateral, illegal, and oppressive sanctions and has no right to express concern about the human rights situation in Iran.

Iran Press/Europe: The Human Rights Attaché of the Iranian Mission to the UN in Geneva, Mohammad Sadatinejad, stated that the US government continued to pursue Donald Trump's failed policy of maximum pressure, a policy of economic terrorism, against the Iranian nation.

He noted that the United States must also be held accountable for Iranians' arbitrary detention who circumvented its illegal sanctions.

He underlined that the Iranian nation would never forget the terrorist acts of the United States, including the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and his companions.

On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Donald Trump had unilaterally withdrawn from the international agreement, announced the return of nuclear sanctions, and violated Washington's commitments under the JCPOA.
