Tehran (IP)- Iran’s Health Minister said that one of the issues of green growth is the provision and guarantee of environmental indicators.

Iran PressIran News: In the 22nd National Conference on Green Industry, Saeed Namaki stressed that natural resources should not be destroyed and passed on to the next generation.

Noting that the green economy is costly, Namaki added that without government support, environmental activists could not succeed in protecting the environment.

Emphasizing that special taxes on pollutants should be increased, Health Minister said: Out of 380,000 deaths before coronavirus disease, 313 deaths were due to pollutants annually.

Namaki also referred to the waste in the environment and highlighted its destructive impact on the health of society, especially in developing societies.

Twenty-second National Conference on Green Industry was held with the presence of Iran’s Health Minister Saeed Namaki and the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Department of Environment Issa Kalantari in Tehran.

At the end of the ceremony, prizes were awarded to a number of top environmentalists.
