Iran Press/ Iran News: Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Monday, in a meeting with the chairman and members of the Assembly of Experts, said: "We are determined to acquire nuclear capabilities commensurate with the needs of the country, and therefore, Iran's enrichment limit will not be 20% and will act wherever the country needs, for example, for nuclear propulsion or other possible tasks it may be necessary to increase enrichment to 60%."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referring to the disagreement between the parliament and the government over the implementation of the Strategic Action Law for the lifting of sanctions, said that the parliament and the government should resolve their differences today, which does not indicate different voices.
Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the law passed by the parliament regarding the reduction of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)'s obligations, underlined that the parliament approved the law and the government welcomed it, and until yesterday, they did the things that should have been done, and God willing, tomorrow another part of this law would be done.
Ayatollah Khamenei called American and three European countries’ statements arrogant, demanding, unjust, and wrong in response to the reduction of Iran’s JCPOA-related obligations, and highlighted that these were the four countries that did not fulfill their obligations from the first day, so they should be reprimanded and held accountable.
The Leader added: "When the United States withdrew from the JCPOA and others stayed in the deal, the Qur'an instructed that we should leave our commitments, but still, our esteemed government did not leave the commitments and gradually reduced some of them which of course, these cases could also be reversible if they fulfill their obligations.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that what prevented the Islamic Republic from producing a nuclear weapon was the Islamic thought and principles that “forbid the construction of any weapon, whether nuclear or chemical, that kills ordinary people."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out: "The issue of nuclear weapons is an excuse. They are even opposed to our acquisition of conventional weapons because they want to take the components of power from Iran."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution underlined that the Islamic Republic would not retreat in the nuclear issue like other issues and would move forward with strength in the direction of what was the interest and need of the country today and tomorrow.
Elsewhere in his remark, the Leader pointed to a number of examples relevant to the issues of the day and added: "For example, what should the Islamic system do when is subject to the conditional pressures of the enemy and the enemy makes the lifting of sanctions conditional on one or more conditions, the implementation of which may be extremely misleading and harmful?
He referred to the Islamic concepts and values as the software of the structure of the Islamic system and pointed to the need to update this software in accordance with the expansion of the Islamic system and the emergence of new challenges, noting that one of the important tasks of scholars and thinkers is to strengthen the intellectual foundations of the Islamic system to implement religious concepts needed by society.
