Germany (IP) - The German member of the European Parliament called the JCPOA one of the most important achievements of the multilateralism approach and stressed the need for the return of the United States to the agreement.

Iran Press/Europe: Referring to her recent interview with Al Jazeera, Cornelia Ernst, Member of the European Parliament from Germany, wrote in a tweet: "JCPOA is one of the most important agreements signed in recent years and should be protected."

"If you want to prevent the Middle East from becoming nuclear, you have to go back to the negotiating table," he said, referring to the US withdrawal from the agreement," she added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday once again reiterated that time is running out for Washington to adopt a new approach towards Iran, stressing that it is up to the new US administration to learn a lesson from the failure of the so-called maximum pressure policy.

Former US President Donald Trump unilaterally left the JCPOA in 2018 and unleashed the toughest ever sanctions against Iran in total disregard for international law. He also prodded other countries into cutting trade with Tehran or face Washington’s punitive measures.
