Tehran (IP)- Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Sima Sadat Lari announced on Thursday that the COVID-19 death toll in Iran has decreased to 81 over the past 24 hours.

Iran Press/Iran News: Lari said that another 81 people have lost their lives due to the deadly virus during the past 24 hours in Iran and with this number, the total death toll reached 56,538.

Elaborating on the latest situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran, Lari said that 6,471 new cases infected by the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, some 533 of whom have been hospitalized.

She added that 1,311, 810 Iranians have totally been confirmed infected, some 1,101,599 of whom have either recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Lari further underlined that 4,437 COVID-19 patients are in critical conditions and under treatment in intensive care units of the hospitals. So far, 8,370, 587 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman pointed out.

As she stated, seven cities of Sari, Amol, Fereydunkenar, Ghaemshahr, and Neka in Mazandaran province and Bandar-e-Gaz and Kordkoy in Golestan province are in the red zone. Also, 30 cities are in orange, 219 cities are in the yellow zone and 192 cities are in the blue.
