211 more Iranians die of COVID-19

Tehran (IP) - With 211 new deaths, the total death toll from the novel coronavirus in Iran has reached 26,380, while 383,368 patients have recovered from the disease, Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said Thursday.

Iran PressIran News: Lari said that 461,044 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 383,368 of the total infected people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

"According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to October 1, 2020, in the country, 3,825 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 1,925 of patients were hospitalized," she said.

Lari said: "4,121 COVID-19 patients are in a critical condition."

"4,043,130 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out: "Provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, and Yazd are regarded as red zones."

"The provinces of Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are also on alert," Lari concluded.
