The meeting focused on developing cooperation in three key sectors: cultivation, livestock, and irrigation.
During the session, Afghanistan's Agriculture Minister Mawlavi Ataullah Omri welcomed the Iranian delegation, highlighting the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
Emphasizing the vast existing capacities between the two countries, Omri called for practical and long-term cooperation in areas such as improved seeds, agricultural machinery, livestock, dairy, animal feed, agricultural research, and technology transfer.
He also proposed that joint technical committees begin working on 16 agreements from previous sessions to pave the way for their implementation.
For his part, Iran's Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri Qazaljeh stressed the historical, cultural, linguistic, economic, and geographical bonds shared by the two neighbors, calling for expanded cooperation across various agricultural sectors.
He stated that Iran is ready to collaborate in animal health, meat and egg production, spices, agricultural machinery, fish farming, flour production, food security, education, and modern agricultural and irrigation technologies.
Nouri Qazaljeh also highlighted the importance of joint efforts in pest and disease control, legume and flour production, and the transfer of knowledge and machinery, noting that developing these ties could create employment opportunities for thousands.
The two sides also discussed the export of fresh goat and sheep meat from Afghanistan to Iran, alongside the export of meat, eggs, and day-old chicks from Iran to Afghanistan.
Both officials emphasized the need to maximize existing capacities and take practical measures to supply the needs of both nations.
