Tehran (IP) - ‏‏The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that in the past 24 hours, 223 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 52,670.

Iran PressIran news: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 15, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 7,704 cases out of whom 1,299 patients were hospitalized, the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that 1,123,474 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 833,276 of the total infected people recovered.

5,704 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

"So far, 6,797,469 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

Currently, 12 counties are in the red zone, 288 are in the orange zone, and 148 are in the yellow zone.
