Tehran (IP) - ‏‏The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Friday that 1,100,818 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 800,853 of the total infected people recovered.

Iran PressIran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 12, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 8,201 cases out of whom 1,286 patients were hospitalized, the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated.
 
She added that in the past 24 hours, 221 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 51,949.
5,739 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 6,657,974 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.
Currently, 12 counties are in the red zone, 231 are in the orange zone, and 205 are in the yellow zone.
