Jordan's Foreign Minister said that the centrality of the Palestinian cause constitutes the basis of regional conflict.

Iran Press/Middle East: Speaking in the 16th edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue on regional challenges, Ayman Safadi said on Sunday that a Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 borders with Eastern Jerusalem al Quds as its capital based on the pertinent international resolutions and the Arab Initiative would achieve viable peace and stability in the Middle East region.

He emphasized the necessity of bringing the warring parties to the negotiating table to invigorate serious talks based on international resolutions.

Safadi warned against Israel's illegal actions, on top of which are the building of settlements, demolishing Palestinians' homes, and expropriation of land, which undermine any prospects for a solution to the conflict.

"There is no cause as sensitive as Jerusalem al Quds and its sanctities; tampering with them is a provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims and Christians and that would lead most certainly to the eruption of conflict," he warned.
