Tehran (IP) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday in the weekly cabinet meeting, expressed the government's opposition to yesterday's Parliament's bill on nullifying sanctions and said this bill is harmful to Iran diplomatic activities in the International arena.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian lawmakers in Tuesday's open session of the parliament adopted the outline of the 9-article strategic plan action to nullify sanctions with 251 votes in favor and stressed the need for its immediate implementation.

The president said on Wednesday that the reason for not attending today's session of the parliament was the resolution of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus, but at the same time, he added that the government does not agree with the approval of the parliament yesterday and considers it harmful for diplomacy.

Referring to the presentation of the budget bill to the parliament, Hassan Rouhani said in the cabinet meeting: "It may be said that the president did not attend the next year's budget review session due to yesterday's parliamentary resolution, but this is not true, but it is for the observance of health protocols."

"Of course, I do not agree with that resolution, and I consider it harmful to the process of diplomatic activities," he highlighted.

In yesterday's session, the parliament approved the bill to withdraw Iran from the Additional Protocol in some conditions.

The President added: "Our enemies in this decade did their best to put pressure on the people and make them surrender, and especially in the three years 2018 to 2020, they turned sanctions into a full-scale economic war."

Rouhani noted: "At the same time, we think that by failing the war and the maximum pressure, the situation will be different next year. Not only because Trump's misguided policies on Iran and the world failed, but because every government that came to power in the United States had to surrender to the Iranian people because of the failure of the economic war and the maximum pressure."
